A GC Story: Adidas Campus

A GC Story: Adidas Campus

What is the story behind one of the most iconic and sought-after shoes of the moment: the Adidas Campus?

Their story began in the 1970s when they were designed for basketball courts, but their success came in the 1980s, quickly becoming one of the most sought-after products in Urban Style!

The Adidas Campus slowly made their way from basketball courts to Hip-Hop culture, quickly achieving icon status!

With their clean design and low-profile silhouette, they immediately attracted attention, not only from athletes but also from a broader audience. The Campus, in fact, quickly became a reference point for various subcultures, including skateboarders, hip-hoppers, and fashion enthusiasts, highlighting their extraordinary versatility.

The Beastie Boys, a pioneering rap group, were among the first to adopt the Campus as an integral part of their rebellious and casual look, wearing them both on and off stage. With the cover of their 1992 album "Check Your Head," the band further cemented the link between the Campus and hip-hop culture, making the sneakers a symbol for an entire generation.

This past year has seen these shoes make a powerful comeback, reaching enormous peaks of popularity, thanks also to collaborations with trap artists like Bad Bunny.
