Finding the right size when buying online can be tricky, especially if the brand uses a different sizing system from the Italian one. In this guide you'll find all the conversion charts to switch easily between European (EU), British (UK) and American (US) sizes.
Tip: measure your foot in centimetres and compare it with the chart. It's the most reliable way to find the perfect size.
How to measure your foot
To find your exact size:
1. Place your foot on a sheet of paper, with your heel against the wall
2. Mark the longest point with a pen (usually the big toe or second toe)
3. Measure the distance from the edge of the sheet to the mark
4. Compare the centimetres with the chart below
Measure both feet: if they differ, use the measurement of the larger foot.

Differences between brands
Sizes are not universal. Every brand has its own specifics:
Nike — Tends to run slightly narrow. If you're between two sizes, go for the larger one.
Adidas — Generally true to size. The Samba and Campus fit a little narrower.
New Balance — Comfortable fit, usually no need to size up.
Jordan — Similar to Nike, slightly narrow fit especially in the toe box.
Converse — They run large. We recommend going down half a size or a full size.
Timberland — Roomy fit, especially the boot models. If you have narrow feet, consider going down half a size.
Asics — Regular fit, on the comfortable side.
Jammers London — Comfortable fit, take your usual size.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if a shoe runs large or small? +
On every shoe's product page on Gagliotta you'll find fit information. Alternatively, contact us on WhatsApp and we'll advise you.
What do I do if the size doesn't fit? +
You can make a free size exchange. See our returns and exchanges page for all the details.
Are EU sizes the same as IT sizes? +
Yes, European (EU) sizes correspond to Italian (IT) sizes for footwear.
Is it better to size up or down? +
If you're undecided between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger one. It's easier to add an insole than to wear a shoe that's too tight.
Are men's and women's shoe sizes the same? +
No, US sizes differ between men and women. A men's US 8 is not the same as a women's US 8. EU and UK sizes, however, are the same.
